Frequently people have no experience of running their own companies and whilst their businesses are in the planning and development stages, the clients can come into ELE to gain the skills they need. These may include business plan development, computer training, financial systems training, marketing techniques, web page design or many other skills. ELE can provide almost 60 different training courses in-house, each geared to the needs of the clients and their business ideas.

The variety of businesses started with help from ELE is amazingly varied. Amongst this wide variety it includes construction trades, alternative therapies, chiropody, tattooing, computer repair, a village store and post office in Surrey, an inventor and a disabled drivers training school. The survival rate of businesses helped to set with training from ELE is 82% still in business after 2 years and those that did not flourish were usually the result of deteriorating health conditions.
